I don’t know what other cities look like, but I think that the commissioner of health role is one I want the Council to vote on. Probably others as well, but there are real implications to the way that position approaches public health that directly affects residents.

The political right's greatest project is discrediting experts. Only in a "do your own research" world can their cultural preferences - anti-abortion, anti-gender affirming care - claim equal legitimacy to the left's medically-backed positions on those issues. SCOTUS is a full partner in that effort

The Supreme Court's conservatives advanced the right's greater project of discrediting experts Tuesday, feigning that there is no medical consensus against conversion therapy.

Ummmmm fucking hello??? Conflict of interest? @dfl.org does anyone there even care about the implications of this??
The investigation is being conducted by a panel subcommittee of the CRBC led by Latonya Reeves. Reeves is the author of one of the original challenges to the Minneapolis DFL convention, calling for the revocation of Sen. Fateh's endorsement. Reeves later withdrew her challenge, choosing instead to participate and vote on the CRBC ruling which retracted Sen Fateh's endorsement. Along several other members of the CRBC, Reeves is also a voting member of the DFL State Executive Committee, which absolved the CRBC of error in their handling of the challenges to the Minneapolis DFL convention,

blue maga mindset believes the democrats have never done anything wrong, that voters should just see the obvious superiority of the party without being sold, and that the left has to never criticize dems for not delivering and should instead just show up and vote and accept gruel

I would really love this person to explain their theory of politics, which somehow doesn’t require politicians to frame the debate at all for voters.

One should assume, if one had not already, that every single thing the GOP has to say about pretty much anything is a lie or fabrication.

Good to see resolve/resilience from rank and file and House Democrats. Good on @rephuffman.bsky.social daring the republicans to abolish the filibuster ▶️ "[L]et them proceed with GOP votes and let the country see with perfect clarity who owns all the damage and destruction they're fomenting." (1/2)
"🩺 Zoom in: Some Democrats openly acknowledge that, while health care is extremely important to them, it's not the only thing at stake.

🛑 "People want this to be a sort of reckoning, where people finally said, 'No,'" Rep. Greg Landsman (D-Ohio) told us.
"We're going to start with these ACA subsidies because it's the most urgent," Landsman told us.
"But ... you're creating a really important moment where sh*t didn't fly."
The bottom line: "I marvel at the naivete of any Democrat who thinks we should give them Dem votes so they can just turn around and ignore us, crash the health care system, and dismantle what's left of our democracy," Rep. Jared Huffman (D-Calif.) told us.

"The filibuster is toast anyway," he added, effectively daring Republicans to ignore the Senate's requirement for 60 votes and pass a party-line funding bill.
"So let them proceed with GOP votes and let the country see with perfect clarity who owns all the damage and destruction they're fomenting.""

This is critical. I asked Chris Murphy if Dems risk sending the message that they're okay w/Trump's lawbreaking provided they extend ACA subsidies.

His answer was striking: On the full year budget, Dems cannot give a bipartisan imprimatur to Trump's lawlessness. 7/

The President needs to stop making childish, offensive videos and come to the table to make sure millions of Americans do not lose their health care or see their premiums double.

This will cause major devastation, especially in Republican states.
