PSA: twitter, X, is doing new terms of service that basically make it so that any comtent you share on there including DMs and photos is theirs and they can use it for "any purpose" including commercial use.

So, if you have a page you’ve left up and don’t want them there’s time to act 1/

I recently found this great plugin for blender that adds tools like the quake level editor. Do any of y'all other more robust level editing programs/plugins for blender like this? I love this workflow and want to explore more stuff like it.

I'm a huge fan of @annmemmott.bsky.social and her work. Here's her latest on #AutisticElders, a must-read👉🏽

Autistic Grandparents. What we know about them would arguably fit comfortably on the back of a postage stamp, in a very large font. Why? Because we were looking for young white boys with high support needs, for decade after decade. The NHS survey of half of its GPs was an eye opener. Results here: https://lnkd.in/eu62tg-f . I want to look at two figures: The figure of 18-24 yr olds (male). 37,000-ish who don't also have a learning disability. Another 7500-ish who do also have a learning disability. Now, our reminder that autistic people are autistic for life. It's a different brain design, from birth. So, we're going to find that same number all the way up the age ranges, yes? [Adjusted for deaths later in life of course] Nope. By age 65-74, the first 'pensioner years', our figures are less than 800 autistic people without a learning disability, and nearly 500 with a learning disability. So, we've only found 1 in every 35 autistic people in that age group, probably. Many of them likely diagnosed because they also had a learning disability, hence the bigger proportion who have both things. It's a lot worse in the over 75s. Hardly anyone identified. Our GPs, hospitals, communities, etc haven't the slightest idea that 34 out of every 35 older autistic people are unidentified as yet. Which brings us back to autistic grandparents. Perhaps 34 out of every 35 not yet identified. Probably doing a fantastic job as a grandparent, too, and bringing so much to community and family life. That typical autistic integrity, attention to detail, dedication, deep knowledge, checking safety, honesty, etc. On e.g. Google Scholar, nearly a million research papers for the search term 'autistic'. One, for the search term 'autistic grandparent'. And that only mentions it in passing. One. We know nothing about their lives, in research terms. Our autism research industries are a mess, aren't they. #AutisticElders | 10 comments on LinkedIn

I get this impetus, honestly, but the sheer number of platforms being steadily eroded over the short term cannot be understated. Twitter just happens to be the obvious poster child.

The unfortunate truth is that, it isn't as simple as this post makes it out to be.
I've decided to stop calling it "Twitter." Used to do that as an insult to Musk, a denial of his reality. But Twitter is dead and buried forever. It's just X, the Nazi site for Nazis, and that's all it will ever be. Get the fuck off.

I've been pecking away at a Game "Bible" (dislike that term, but I have yet to identify a better word to use) for a video game I'll never be able to play, just to stretch the design theory muscles and I've come to the conclusion:

Capitalism is bloatware for Game Design.

Look, Bluesky is a Twitter byproduct that exists as a community because Musk bought Twitter and killed it and now has X wear it as a skinsuit. No one is here really because they believe in the fediverse, we're here because of what happened to Twitter. This is twitter for opting out of Musk-Twitter.

There's probably a whole spectrum of Autistic Dress Codes we've yet to identify:

Focused Comfortable
Abstract Professional
Mercurial Fit
Obfuscating Diva Chic
Business Confused

The aesthetic explanation so I don't have to literally explain every time you look my way, are endless.

I just learned you can bet money on war crimes
“What appears to be a newly created account appeared to invest $30,000 Friday in Maduro's exit. After Maduro went into custody Saturday morning, that same investor netted $436,759.61.”
Someone made $400K by predicting Maduro's capture. Here's what happened
The winnings come as the rules governing prediction markets are still evolving.

Israel’s genocide in Gaza set a global norm that views extermination as a 'natural' part of how nations and paramilitary groups wage war. We are already seeing this in Sudan.

Rafaats surviving parents have been through so much. They have lost two of their sons in one bombing and have had $20k from their last campaign stolen from them while their health deteriorates.

They found a new trustee to run their campaign and still desperately need the funds that were stolen.
