Book 109 of 2025
10 Dance, Volume 1 by Satoh Inoue

I binged this after watching the movie on Netflix last night and now I’m, like, third in line for the next volume at the library and I’m so upset because I need more! #booksky

I think I’m balling on my second attempt to read Good Spirits. I’ve been reading it for two days and haven’t even cracked 50 pages yet, which tells me to put it down. I do still want to read it, but I think the timing might be wrong. #booksky

Woke up this morning desperately missing working on my sapphic romance novel. I haven’t gotten to in a couple weeks because of life, but gosh, I miss Lucy and Faye. #writersky

New authors, please, PLEASE, you don't need AI to "improve" your writing. Rough edges, weird word choices, these are the quirks that make human prose interesting. I'd read someone's fever-dream of a 1st novel any day over an AI book that reads like the hideous amalgam of peppy corporate PR. #booksky

Didn’t we do this the year of the Slap? I think we did and I think the broadcast vanished an hour in.

Book 108 of 2025
Grace & Henry’s Holiday Movie Marathon by Matthew Norman

I do feel like some subplots either came out of nowhere or weren’t resolved at all, but this gave me the warm and fuzzies, so I had a good time. #booksky

Rob Reiner either made your favorite movie, or made somebody you know’s favorite movie. If you’re a Californian, he’s also part of the reason you or your friends can get married. He has changed more lives for the better than this asshole commenting on him ever did.

So there is already an ai-generated whitewashing campaign to bury the name of the Muslim man, Ahmed al Ahmed, who disarmed one of the Bondi Beach shooters, and replace his identity with a white guy name and that’s why even a thimble of our potable water powering this tech is too fucking much.

I’m considering a Josh O’Connor weekend. Wake Up Dead Man last night, the Mastermind tonight, and History of Sound tomorrow night. Yes yes? #filmsky

Book 107 of 2025
The Merriest Misters by Timothy Janovsky

This one was a bit of a surprise, actually. I expected a retelling of the Santa Clause, but it was more about gender identity and marriage and the magic we lose as adults. I had a good time with it. #booksky

Amazon is making money off AI copies of books - and putting the onus on authors to prove they’ve been plagiarised.

Honestly, just stop buying books from Amazon. Get them from an actual bookshop or order them from a reputable book supplier like bookshop.org

Book 106 of 2025
Set the Record Straight by Hannah Bonan-Young

I know it’s a novella, but did it have to be so basic and uninspired? Maybe I just ask too much of my romances. I just wish it had more depth and more character development on Clara’s end. #booksky

Book 105 of 2025
Shy Girl by Mia Ballard

I was on the library waitlist for this book for 5 months and I wish I could say it was worth it. The first half of this book is so boring because it’s all build-up. The book doesn’t start until that halfway point and that endlessly frustrates me. #booksky

Book 104 of 2025
Cruel Winter With You by Ali Hazelwood

I love how much lore AH puts gives her characters, even in her short stories. Marc is just the sweetest and most down-bad guy, and I love everything about him. #booksky
