i find the debate over "published fic" or "filing off the serial numbers" to be too myopic in that all fiction exists as descendant of something else. this book is repurposed "star wars" fanfiction, but "star wars" is a lean-kurosawa cowboy soup. you keep going back until you get to the first fire.
