I can't help but think of my old suburban neighborhood. How do you get enough people who are both willing and physically able to confront two SUVs of feds?

this is basically why I believe they have mostly avoided NYC at a target for these operations thus far. this is also why I am pessimistic, long run, on these ethnic pogroms. The US largely lacks the density that makes ad-hoc, regional responses viable against centralized state agents.
More to come, but confrontation still ongoing with the masked agents trying to leave Canal Street and a spontaneous crowd of counter protesters.

If the cops were aligned against this more broadly they would absolutely, without a doubt, be signaling them as criminal and violent and our fascist media environment would, without a doubt, be jumping on the opportunity. And yet they are not doing that. This does mean something, actually.

To expand on this, I think conservative talking heads believe there's a difference between Kirk, Scalise, and Tarrio. There is, but I imagine most people correctly identify them as different bags full of trump's shit.

I've been thinking about this too. I think they believed there was a dividing line between political figure and political media figure. Conservative media folks don't consider themselves *in* government, they think they're in entertainment pushing a political message.
