Weird question but does anyone I know on here live in Maine and if so, do you have a smart meter? I just read a wild statistic about penetration in Maine and I am just mentally not believing it.

📈#Tariffs passthrough building via core goods

💡Business markups swinging wildly, last couple of months indicate a squeeze in margins for final demand trade services (margins for retailers & wholesalers)

conceptually its kinda interesting - innovation of vc investing is that we now can grow companies at scale with pvt capital with the kind of hand-waving that previously got people constantly into "fraud" territory if you were to do it at a listed company and things go south lol

Paul’s at the forefront of American housing policy. Tying together YIMBYism, public finance, and public development, he’s building *the model* for American social housing.

Now he’s been appointed to Zohran’s Transition Committee on Housing. We at @publicenterprise.bsky.social couldn’t be prouder!

The revealed preference of Trumpism is that China is the technologically superior country.
Lutnick on the EU: "Another example -- they rule out diesel gas and you gotta have batteries here by 2035. But Europe doesn't make batteries! Only certain countries make batteries and Europe is not one of them. They gotta think better about themselves ... come on! Think correctly."

Anyway, I told my mom that I loved her, but had she given birth to me in Helmand, I would hate all women for all time.

Which is a really succinct explanation for Southern Helmand.

And the real "smart" question we asked was "so what does make you gay?"

And we got a wide variety of responses from "only the receptive partner is gay" (mathematically difficult to figure out how "nobody" could be gay in that case) to the Andrew-Tate-Esque "It's only gay if you love the man."

But the Marines asked our interpreters, "So, everyone here is gay, right?" And the interpreters shocked response was, "NO! Why would you say that?"

"Well, they all have sex with men..." and the interpreter's response was, "I've had sex with tons of men. I'm not gay."

My infantry Bn had a really hard time parsing the gender and sexuality issues of Southern Helmand.

When people say, "you wouldn't want a 'purple haired gender studies major' in the Marines" I reply "YES we desperately needed them!" We had teams of anthropologists who published studies for us.

Can anyone here on BlueSky chip in a bit?

Again, I will die on the lonely hill that the vast majority of Americans, despite everything they said & believed about the economy, showed by their behavior exactly how good/strong it was under Biden. Voters were angry as hell, & spending like mad. Revealed preferences.

Once again, I remind you that this woman cannot be allowed anywhere near the strategy or leadership of the Democratic Party:

Also, stop it with this BS. Biden correctly said the economy in 2024 was good, because it was. Yes, no one believed it. That wasn't his fault.
Slotkin: "He's trying to distract us from the big stories of last week, the Epstein files and economy. He's tweeting 'the economy is the best it's ever been' -- amazing considering the public isn't stupid. It reminded me of Joe Biden. Biden tried to tell us for a year that the economy was great."

I had a popular account with a valuable audience and my Twitter payout was $80 a month-ish, to the point where I disabled monetization instead of uploading my ID. Payouts are only material if you live in a developing country, so “guy in Nigeria posting right-wing Amerislop” has taken over the site.
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.
