It’s far less organized than any conspiracy theorist believes and that’s somewhat worse. At a certain level of money rules get lost and things get normalized. They lose touch with reality. Every gilded age had a scammer that used that to make a fortune by essentially being a high end pimp.

I need to read your new paper in detail because I wonder how hard a margin event might squeeze.

Good point. That’s what I kind of assumed about how event driven the flows are. My guess from what you had posted is that they aren’t actually being driven by macro or real flows but whatever drives the crypto assets.

Updated my Substack to reflect this important point: Very low subsidies to the social funds late in the year were a big reason why Russian federal budget spending seemed so strangely low late in 2025. See last paragraph: janiskluge.substack.com/p/russias-co...

Through daily harassment, killing, house demolition and eviction, the Israeli government is trying to provoke a Palestinian uprising in the West Bank.

Their aim is to repeat in the West Bank what was done in Gaza, and, if possible, orchestrate mass expulsion to Jordan.

Puerto Rico hasn't had reliable power in a decade.

The grid sends occasional surges through the wires that fry appliances.

Electricity rates are among the highest in the entire U.S.

Heat waves are getting intense in the summer, and outages mean A/C is no guarantee for an aging population.
