My friend went to HLS as his second career and told me there is an epidemic divide between Obama era liberal profs and the liberal students who all think law is actually bs and it all comes down to political power. The kids are alright.

That’s mostly right but there is quite a bit of debt and finance leasing out there supporting the capex. Should be ok if there’s enough core profits to service but these things can get out of hand.

Joe, I hate to say it but stuff like this has also occasionally really led me to question the utility of our academic enterprise. If somehow someone can make it to an TT job teaching at an R1 but still not parse the difference between "fascist dictatorship" and "contested citizenship republic"...
