The incompetence of this administration is stunning.
Two days after the floods in Texas, FEMA failed to answer two-thirds of incoming calls. Contractors were laid off on July 5th, and Kristi Noem didn’t renew their contracts until five days later.

Kristi Noem didn’t approve FEMA rescue teams for over 72 hours after the Texas floods, following a rule she imposed that required her personal sign-off on any operation over $100K.

This is inexcusable. She should resign.

🚨🚨🚨 Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” funds LETHAL AI-powered drones that can make KILL DECISIONS. The bill does NOT specifically protect Americans from being targeted.

Why is anyone supporting this bill?

If only we had warned folks before the election that the real plan wasn’t border security…it was mass deportation in the interior, federalizing the National Guard, ripping people out of homes, families, jobs, and schools.

Oh wait…we did.

I am a little late on this one - but Moderna published their phase 3 trial of a combined influenza/covid mRNA vaccine in adults age 50+.

Great immunogenicity. Mild, short-term side effects (muscle aches, fatigue, etc).

This is good news.

It's time for another electric vehicle charging video.

Too many people believe EV charging solutions require expensive, huge electric circuits (or worse: service upgrades).

The really high-power ones people tend to go with can be a headache, but there are many other options!

“If ICE is going to wear a mask in their uniform, then I can.”

In August, Nassau County lawmakers passed a bill banning the public from wearing masks. Protesters showed up today masked anyway. We asked them why.

Sackets Harbor, NY is so small that there’s one pre k-12 school with 475 students. Three of those students were disappeared by ICE.

Here is a statement published today by school principal Jaime Cook:

This! The factory of the turn of the last century, which is what the hedge fund class still has stuck in their demented noggins does not exist, everything is contracted to “job shops” (whatever sweatshop is the lowest of lowballs that will still hit print at an acceptable ratio)
The white men fantasizing about the return of American manufacturing don’t actually think they or their kids will be working in the factories. This is their American individual idealism at work: they believe there will always be someone else working hard for their benefit

brilliant! hoping that this comes to market quickly and brings broader applications through better understanding how to fight aggressive virus threats
THIS IS HUGE! Researchers at Stanford University have developed a dual-antibody treatment that remains effective against ALL SARS-CoV-2 variants by targeting a less-mutable part of the virus. This breakthrough could lead to longer-lasting therapies that OUTPACE viral evolution. 🧪🧵⬇️

It occurs to me that not everyone knows how to get to Sugarbush, the ski resort JD Vance is visiting.

It’s a great mountain, but even if you don’t ski, it’s a beautiful drive to get there, especially on a clear day like tomorrow.

You can get directions here. You’re welcome!
