Mom sent me a text message saying Roger Staubach had died. Can’t find any info on it except for some Cowboys fan site posting it 6 days ago.

Pretty sure it got fed to her through FB.

Not true, as far as I can tell. Maybe somebody trying to game a prop bet site with misinformation?

Played Blood Drive Solitaire today boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/10... #bggplay via @boardgamegeek.com

There's no actual entry for it on BGG, but I'm going to count it.
Patience
Shuffle your deck and then try to arrange the cards into a certain pattern.

Always odd to get a like from a post that's several months old. 9 times out of 10, it's a new account that's using a bot build a random posting history. Their entire timeline is reposts.

Extrapolating this to the Indie Games Night Market and why it's important.
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

Federal immigration enforcement officials called off a planned raid on Canal Street today shortly before it was slated to begin.

New Yorkers who heard about the raid showed up at the garage where the feds had gathered, and as federal agents tried to leave, the NYPD cleared the way for them.

Rain chances went from 95% to 50% to 15% overnight.

Time to fire up the smoker!

Why, oh why, do people get three good answers for the bonus Match Game and ignore them in favor of their own?

Scary: Parking in the same lots as Black Friday shoppers

Scarier: Realizing after I get home that my debit card was sitting in full view in my front seat the whole time.

Maybe it’s because they didn’t come to the con or gave up on backing overstuffed kickstarters, but I noticed that there were significantly fewer “all-in” pledges for sale at the BGG.Con boardgame bazaar this year.

Usually there’s at least one person who created a huge tower of shrinkwrapped boxes.

Is there such as a thing as a punnet square for graphic design?

Imagine being able to put in a font/image and an assortment of foreground/background colors and shapes to see what icons would look like without having to do them individually.

I love watching rappers during the parade carefully stepping around or dropping offensive content by just not singing that part.

Parade Organizers: “If a swear we hear, the check won’t clear.”
thanksgiving is a time for people to come together, to celebrate the spirit of unity despite our differences, and to demonstrate that, here is busta rhymes performing "break ya neck" with raphael the ninja turtle

If I were to ask for a book about boardgames for Christmas (not a history of boardgames or book full of public domain games), what would you suggest?

I'm old.

If you're not, listen to this.

Get a guitar or some drums, or a trumpet. Pick up a brush, a pencil, some clay or a welder.

Just make shit. It doesn't have to be good (eventually it will be) just make music, art or write or whatever.

It's literally never been more important.
