Q: How can you tell the difference between a chemist and a plumber?

A: Ask them to pronounce the word 'unionized.'

It's a multiple failure of editing; first of the editor in "assigning" the piece to "AI," and second in not knowing enough about what they've "assigned" to understand that the output is bullshit. In a different era, this would have gotten someone fired.
This was just posted by @tbretc.bsky.social on another platform. The Chicago Sun-Times obviously gets ChatGPT to write a ‘summer reads’ feature almost entirely made up of real authors but completely fake books. What are we coming to?

Time to give @bluesky props. As I write this, there are 560 quotes and replies to the post below.

Of those only 4 call me names and give me shit. About 15 do the same towards Trump.

The remaining 541 are on topic and add value.

It’s a battle of political leverage. Who can use tariffs, retaliatory tariffs or sanctions to create more political pain for the other leader. Forcing them to capitulate or face undesired consequences.

How crazy would it be if China, Mexico and/or Canada initiated tariffs before Trump took office
From your standpoint as a businessman and manufacturer, is there any sense behind this? Especially now that other countries are threatening tariffs of their own in retaliation. But that doesn't make sense cause it would mean raising their own taxes.

I'm not sure how much longer our Mississippi Free Press account will post to X, but for now it makes a good case study—and a good case for why other newsrooms shouldn't fear moving to BlueSky.

Look at the difference in engagement for identical posts with the same links.

If you want Bluesky to have a lot of energy (and have more news folks) you have to start following a lot of them, so that you can create a lot of discussions and cross-pollination, so to speak. Threads hates engagement, and X has drowned it in trolls.
