As today is World Octopus Day I’ll again mention that a Spanish equivalent to “like a fish out of water” is como un pulpo en un garaje. It means “like an octopus in a garage.”

Perhaps a journalist could do a little deep dive into the NZ Salmon industry. Not everyone is aware, but the slight increase in water temperature has already fucked the industry real hard. Currently attempting to relocate everywhere because existing salmon farms are no longer viable.

Just for clarity, the unemployment numbers under this government may look terrible, but keep in mind, Luxon has driven tens of thousands of Kiwis overseas as well, so its actually far worse. These numbers are just the ones that couldnt leave.

Lol.

“This madness needs to end,” says representatives from party that twice nominated and elected to the Presidency an incompetent, abusive, delusional, senile, corrupt, lying, law-breaking kleptocrat.

Does the news reflect what we die from?
The image presents a comparison of the leading causes of death in the United States for 2023 and the media coverage these causes receive from three news outlets: The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Fox News.

In the footer, it notes the data sources, indicating that the information is based on media mentions from Media Cloud (2025) and death data from the US CDC (2025) and the Global Terrorism Index, with a clarification that values are normalized to sum to 100%.

...ahhh and now I realise why there's been such a drive to pin a single smashed window and "political violence" on "radical Greens"...
...by the same guy that walked amongst the cookers at Parliament prior to their fucking riot and while they were having their daily mock hanging trials...

I guess it was too much to hope for that Israelis would gather to mark the passing of ~71,000 dead (1200 Israelis and ~70,000 Gazans), but yeah, do whatever you want, I guess. We all know that illegal wars, invasions and mass killings *never* get bought up again in the future, and everyone forgets!

Also of interest is this lie:
"Today, inflation has been *brought down* to 2.7 percent"

Inflation has not been "bought down" by the genius economic intellect of this govt, it has *come down* through chance and global events.

Irrespective of correctness, let this be a retort to all the “there’s no free speech on our campuses” crowd. Dennis can write this piece praising the ex-political nemesis of his now-boss and be 100% confident that next promotion round it will HELP his chances of becoming a full professor.
Opinion: Nicola Willis is right: the economy isn't as bad as the 'merchants of misery' claim
Blaming the current state of the economy on Willis' leadership ignores aspects of the bigger picture, writes Dennis Wesselbaum.

RNZ almost never publishes "political opinions" but today they & Stuff/The Post published one defending Nicola Willis's handling of the economy.

The author is Dennis Wesselbaum - from lobby group NZ Initiative, where Luxon/Willis reportedly get economic policies from
