Reporting on any guarantees from the Trump admin uncritically, without the context that the present US leadership is ideologically aligned with the Kremlin and actively hostile to the western alliance structure, is journalistic malpractice.

I know being hopeful is a fool's errand sometimes when you are a Democrat, but in my heart I do believe that a lot of progressives all over the country smell blood in the water (in a good way) and feel HUGE momentum behind not just flipping R seats, but knocking out weak Dem establishment dinosaurs
