For 248 years the streets of America didn’t feature a roving masked federal kidnapping squad that might send you a Central American death camp or just murder you themselves, but getting rid of it now is some impossible lefty fantasy that professional Democrats lamentably must struggle against.
Classic Democratic no-win. All of them voted against the OBAA, which supercharged ICE funding and hiring. But they won't say they'd "abolish ICE" so they'll get yelled at (mostly by people who'll vote for them in the midterms after threatening not to).
Top Democrats decline to say if they would rein in ICE after Minnesota shooting

Clear-eyed, fact-based, and written to explain to normies. No “both sidesing.” No “Trump officials disagree.”
No gaslighting that what we can see with our own eyes might not be true.

Worth noting indeed.
Worth noting: ABC World News Tonight offered a full report on the J6 anniversary, including one rioter’s tearful apology to police, a statement from Pence and a note that the WH website today repeated “the lie” that the election was stolen.

NBC Nightly News didn’t cover the anniversary at all
Tonight on the CBS Evening News, the 5-year anniversary of January 6 got 15 seconds of coverage 25 minutes into the show. The only pictures shown: Pardoned “defendants” marching through DC as Dokoupil said Trump accused Dems of “failing to prevent” J6 while “Jeffries accused Trump of “whitewashing.”

Good to know.
1. Hundreds of corps that pledged to stop donating to members of Congress who voted to overturn the election on 1/6/21 have broken their promise over the last 5 years

But we've identified 10 promise keepers:

Farmers
Airbnb
Expedia
Nike
Clorox
Eversource Energy
Holland & Hart
Qurate
Whirlpool
Lyft
Five years later, these 10 corporations still aren’t funding election deniers
Five years ago today, on January 6, 2021, a violent mob stormed the Capitol building.

Remind me what happened in 1991.
Another clear case of the hell unleashed on a nation's citizenry when a government aligns with Russia.

Around the time Poland escaped the decades of decay that Moscow's grip entailed, Venezuela embraced the Russian world.

- Poland now a $1 trillion economy.
- Venezuela back to 1930's

The truth in all of this is that oil companies have steered the United States into more wars, burned through more taxpayer money, and gotten more people and more Americans killed in the last 80 years than America’s worst enemies could possibly ever dream.
The idea that Trump-MAGA are "anti-interventionist" is based on a confused reading of their hatred of multilateralism and international law and institutions. I argued this during Iran bombing debate (h/t @zackbeauchamp.bsky.social and @nicholasgrossman.bsky.social):

Every single leader has sworn to protect their country’s constitution.

Please name one country whose constitution does not mention sovereignty.

That sovereignty is protected by UN Charter globally.

Charter gone—sovereignty determined by mighty power leading to violation of the initial pledge.

Im seeing discussions about consultations with congress, authorizations of force etc. I have to say this transcends any of what I would call sub constitutional technicalities. The president has gone to war with a foreign power and, it seems, kidnapped a foreign head of state on the basis of nothing.
