i really should just like. make my own website with an archive of all my own art on it because i'm sick of constantly moving sites and then the new ones decaying or running out of funding or whatever and then having to start all over again elsewhere and losing more people every time.

Once again reminding folks that the ethical replacement to using Spotify isn’t another streaming platform; it’s buying music from artists when you’re in the financial position to do so and pirating them when you’re unable to do so. Or simply ask an artist for the files, like actually.

“Just be yourself” can sound like cliché and bad advice, because honestly, it goes badly sometimes. It can hurt. Some people will reject you. But the reason it’s worth it is that when things do work out, it’s with people who really like the real you, and that feels so much better than pretending.
