Again and again and again and again and again, the lower courts do the work, issue thorough and well-considered rulings, and then the Supreme Court just goes, “Nah.”
SCOTUS conservatives just blessed the Texas GOP's gerrymander. It'll be used next year.

They stay the lower-court ruling, written by a Trump-appointed judge, that found the gerrymander to be illegal.

While no clear vote, Alito wrote a concurrence; and only the three liberal justices dissented.

Not quite the point of this post, I know, but every now and then it’s really bracing to re-confront how we’re living through the absolute fucking worst presidency by, like, a factor of five.
So is it going to be the affordability panic, the indiscriminate murder at sea, or the Epstein files that does it?

What's so crazy about this is RFK Jr/MAHA acting like we have universal healthcare.

WE CAN'T AFFORD THIS SHIT! Our healthcare system is not equipped to deal with MORE disease. The public is not equipped to pay out of pocket for MORE disease.

We need every ounce of prevention we can get.
Today is the start of 2 days of meetings of RFK Jr.'s ACIP, where vaccines skeptics outnumber actual scientists and medial experts. Their target: the Hep B vaccine, which has a ~90-98% (after 3 doses) effectiveness rate in preventing infection for up to 30 yrs.
