When Israel builds its newest seaside resort over the corpse of Gaza, it will attempt to erase the erased from history, like it has done, over and over, since 1948. The western world will move on. Seinfeld and Radiohead and Nick Cave will do shows by the sea. We will all pretend. It will all be lies

For balance they seem to barely register with Tasmanian govts and their voters.
"... these scandals barely register on the mainland. They demonstrate just how Melbourne- and Sydney-centric our national media has become. They also demonstrate the deep-seated condescension with which the mainstream media (and political) class treat Tasmania."

Was there ever likely to be any returns to diminish? Paying bullies doesn't work in the school yard & it never works in politics.
If there was ever a case of a Government program with diminishing returns, AUKUS would be it.

A foolish program, unachievable, not fit for purpose, poor executive management, poor risk & issues management & pathetic Ministerial management.

Just a disgraceful grift of taxpayers money.

Many people loathe Frydenberg, not because he is a Jew, but because he is a self serving arsehole. Most civilised people except western politicians, hate Netanyahu not because he is a Jew (more accurately a Zionist) but because he is a murderous, self-serving, psychopathic arsehole.
The fire bombing of the synagogue was appalling, abhorrent. But to blame it on Albanese is dirty, gutter politics. Which, of course is all that the failure Frydenberg was ever good for.

If I hear one more LNP voting Qlder moan about losing the former Miles govt's $1000 energy rebate, enabled because his govt fairly hit up mining companies to return it to us, the tax-payers, I think I'll scream. They got what they voted for & bugger the rest of us.

When hearing talk about the need to protect the Tasmanian salmon industry, just remember this is not a local-owned industry. It is dominated by foreign-owned companies.

The profits go offshore, and they don’t pay tax here.

But the environmental damage very much happens here.

Sarah Hanson-Young is invariably correct.

Classic! Thank goodness you're not.
Hahaha! Just passed a man with his dog. He looked at me, stopped and said "Gosh!" then apologised profusely."Sorry" he said "you reminded me of someone I loved many years ago as a kid; she did a kids' show on the telly called Magic something; but she must be dead!" "Oh yes" I said...I probably am! 😂

Aside from being unsurprised at a Liberal's proposal to ensure the average person will never be a priority for them, getting over everything being a bloody culture war. Affordable housing, public or for future home owners is not a culture war.
Lib Senator Bragg is banging the drum trying to whip up support for his idea to boost home ownership by allowing banks to lend to borrowers who would normally be judged not able to manage the repayments. Loading up risk on vulnerable people is dangerous.

While some of what Nikki Savva writes has merit, many will always remember she was a senior adviser to the shittiest little PM Australia has ever seen. Howard opened the door to those like Abbott & Morrison so forgive us if we sometimes agree with Savva while questioning her motives.
