Zohran Mamdani doesn’t make me, an American Jew, feel unsafe.

Having the Coast Guard, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, decide that a swastika isn’t really a symbol of hate? That makes me, an American Jew, feel pretty damn unsafe.

the president using the office to punish americans that didnt vote for him should really be one of the biggest scandals in americas history
Trump is upfront in saying he will use the shutdown to punish Democrats, and here are the receipts. About $27.2 billion cut from Dem districts compared to about $0.7 billion in GOP districts.
We all complain about the media, but need this type of in-depth journalism.

I keep using the term "non compos mentis" to describe Trump because that's how he's acting. It's beyond his longstanding history of total ignorance, habitual lying, and constant exaggeration. He's genuinely disconnected from reality and often incapable of expressing coherent thoughts.
I have been haunted by this statement all day www.kgw.com/article/news...

This story is not getting nearly enough attention.

A sting on a pedo ring pulled in an Israeli government official and the Trump Administration stepped in to set him free.
The US Attorney who declined to prosecute an Israeli government official arrested last month for underage solicitation has a colorful collection of deep-pocketed donors from past political campaigns, including one who fled a fraud case by going to... Israel.

Fascism is here. We are not “getting closer” or “in danger of.”

This matters because it frames our discussion: We aren’t trying to prevent it, we’re trying to defeat it. It’s not taking over our institutions, it’s taken them over.

Otherwise, we’re always behind, fighting a past we’ve already lost.

Voting Rights Act turns 60 today. I've studied VRA for 15 years. Most people don't realize just how much it transformed American democracy, ended Jim Crow & enfranchised millions of Americans

Now it’s on life support. If it dies, American democracy dies with it www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

The Trump administration is arresting more and more immigrants with no criminal records. To maintain the illusion that their focus is criminals, they're ginning up charges including by leveraging testimony from criminals who then get leniency.
