"And Tiny Tim, who did not die" = heartwarming, Christmassy.

"And Tiny Tim, who would not die" = sinister, alarming.

Long and fairly frantic shift at work (always fun when you hit 10k steps without leaving the building) eased by a haircut with added mulled wine and pretzels

Do you remember this?

Back in 2019 *this post* caused quite a stir on social media.

I made some cupcakes (coffee with chocolate chips) and some of them tried to escape their cases and looked like they were auditioning for a minor part in The Thing

Brain just not in gear today

Made tea, was looking for space in the fridge for my mug, and about to take the milk through to the other room

Took me far too long to work out what was wrong

I understand that a lot of folks have been misled by fear-mongering and powerful regressive voices but it’s still astonishing to me that so many have fallen for the idea that oppressively policing other people’s gender identity and expression could in any way be part of an enlightened future.

A few stick in my mind-
Walking out of The Thing into an unexpected snow storm

Watching Roger Rabbit in the cinema where part of it was filmed

Or The Babadook where I thought the ‘oh god oh god no no no’ was part of the soundtrack but it was two young men muttering, holding onto each other in fear
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

Am watching Paddington in Peru with one of the people we support and she has declared both Hugh Bonneville and Antonio Banderas as ‘right fine mannies’

I keep thinking about all of the people who were NOT hired as part of this exercise. All the real world production crew. The actors. The caterers supporting real world shoots. So many people with real skills not being paid. So. Many. Creative. People. Not. Being. Paid.

Imagine taking more time than it would take to do something traditionally. I bet it would take a builder longer to build a house out of jelly instead of brick, because jelly isn't brick.

Having a very uncoordinated and brain-foggy day
Managed to burn my finger on the air-fryer then cut my thumb chopping onions for chilli.

I've just sent my new book to print! It's a collection of sketches, photos and stories from the last couple of years, when I've been recovering from long covid and learning dry stone dyke building from the island's octogenarian resident expert.

I see people are talking about Roger Rabbit again
Seeing it in the cinema were part of it was filmed is still one of the weirdest experiences of my life
Taking a break from work to eat lunch and put a film on.

I maintain that Who Framed Roger Rabbit is on or the top 10 films of the last 37 years.

Great adaptation, the acting was phenomenally classic noir, especially given they needed to sync up to "invisible" co-stars. And man the music and art...

Perfect timing!

Tattoo update. 24 hours on and it mostly feels like I have a sunburned shoulder

Mildly irritating as long as nothing bumps it

Still in love with my little lilac!
