All of the companies that make the software I use are increasing their prices, to account for an "investment" in AI.

In addition to trying to hype AI to consumers, I wonder if the drive to promote AI's 'consciousness' is motivated by a desire to eventually secure certain human rights for it similar to that enjoyed by corporations. It would create a number of very useful loopholes for those owning the algorithms.
