Frosty and foggy to start with a stormy finish to the week heading into the first week of the new year. Could see stronger storms with more wind approaching the weekend along with the arrival of the King Tides which may enhance localized flooding near the coast, stay tuned. 12/28/25 #CAwx

The Immigration Act of 1924 helped keep out Italian immigrants, who were considered non-white. Dino Paul Crocetti changed his name to Dean Martin for his career. Frank Sinatra refused to change his name. Here he is reminding kids what it means to be accepting of differences…and not act like Nazis.

Paramount-owned CBS abruptly canceled a story exposing the Trump administration's brutal deportations.

The reporter called it a "political decision."

Paramount needs Trump’s backing to buy Warner Bros. — including CNN.

Is that just a coincidence?

This looks like corruption.

Unbelievable. This would be a terrible blow to American science, writ large. It would decimate not only climate research, but also the kind of weather, wildfire, and disaster research that has underpinned half a century of progress in prediction, early warning, and increased resilience.
Exclusive: The Trump administration is moving to dismantle the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado, according to a senior White House official, taking aim at one of the world's leading climate research labs.

A date which will live in infamy.

A quiet dawn. A sudden attack. An enduring legacy of courage. Today, we remember the servicemembers who gave their lives defending our nation at Pearl Harbor. Their sacrifice is woven into the fabric of our freedom.

Overall, water resources are looking strong to start December with all of CA major reservoirs at more than 100% of historical averages. And while frozen precip is lacking so far compared to last year, combined rain and snow has been above average including across the Central Sierra. 12/2/2025 #CAwx

Sierra snowpack by region:
North: 18% (one year ago 248%)
Central: 31% (109%)
South: 83% (183%)
Fall storms have been warmer which is reflected in the low vs. average snowpack numbers to start December. Snow lagging at @UCB_CSSL but overall precip (rain+snow) is above average (warmer storms).
