Maybe I should say something here since I've been accused of "not understanding calculus." I'm an aerospace engineer.

I'm going to hold your hands when I say this, America: Elon Musk is not intelligent, he is not hard-working, he is not an engineer who understands how to 'shoot rockets into space.' Us old aerospace engineers tracked when he took over SpaceX and tried to speak intelligently about it. He's a fraud.

Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

At a time when multiple federal departments run by Donald Trump have posted Nazi slogans or imagery or songs in the last week—with the total number of incidents being impossible to count just on one hand—Trump is now demanding lists of Jews from U.S. institutions.

Time to wake the fuck up, all.

This is a prejudice that has grown within me but it's based on over a decade's worth of evidence: I saw a man driving a truck with "don't tread on me" VA tags and instantly thought 'that must be one of the biggest bootlickers.'

Someone show me evidence to the contrary b/c this keeps being true.

so much to cover right now, but a thread i just want to throw out there from my reporting is that the car rental market in minneapolis is reportedly totally screwed up right now because ICE has cleared the inventory. rental companies should have to answer for supplying vehicles used in terror.

This just shows how absurd the whole "armed conflict" framing is. The men on the boats weren't members of an organized armed force, and therefore the question of "perfidy" is inapposite. The problem is that they were civilians who were murdered.

“News organizations” are running the hell out of this story because they see their function not so much to report facts but to enforce social norms like “police officers are automatically deserving of respect to a degree it is newsworthy if someone is mean to one of them.”

Data centers target rural communities for lower costs, not to create high-quality jobs, study finds
Local governments often tell residents that the power-hungry developments will bring numerous tech jobs to their communities. A new study contradicted that.
