Energy transitions can happen faster than we think:

In 2000 almost 90% of Denmark's electricity was from fossil fuels.

In 2024 less than 10% of Danish electricity was from fossil fuels.

The Ottawa-Alberta MOU delays #methane regulations. This is extremely problematic. It means more #pollution impacting our kids, our families, and our communities. Read the joint statement below. #ourkidsair #forourkids

I’d love to live in a Canada where I could feel free to vote for a party/platform that more closely aligns with my values and hopes, instead of having to focus on a strategy of keeping the Conservatives at bay.

Would you?
Now’s your chance to make every vote count! It’s time for real electoral reform in Canada. Add your name to petition e-6993 and help make a fair, proportional voting system a reality:

Across the world, 460M people live in sacrifice zones — rings of smoke and sickness around fossil fuel sites. Amnesty says billions are harmed so a handful can profit.

This is the cost of the old world. It cannot continue.

Queue up the usual conservative suspects, who regularly defend anti-abortion parties like the UCP by telling women to "calm down, we aren't the United States."

The UCP govt can ban abortion in Alberta. They can use the notwithtanding to do it. And they will. #ableg #cdnpoli
The UCP last night passed a motion to defund 3rd trimester abortions. Ones after 20 wk are cause medically necessary. So if passed into law in Alberta, if a woman’s life is endangered by a 3rd trimester pregnancy, & she can’t afford what they charge, she’d have to travel to another province or die.

Any political “leader” still selling the obviously false choice between #ClimateAction and “the economy” is just reminding us that they clearly don’t understand either the climate crisis OR the economy.

Or they’re cynically hope that WE don’t understand the difference.

Or both.

Methane pollution is continuously vented from O&G infrastructure and it’s supercharging global heating. And now with the MOU between Ottawa and Alberta, we can expect more of this because the #methane regs have been rolled back. 😠 #environment #pollution

More than four centuries ago, Spanish colonizers tried to force their way into Wampís territory in search of gold. The Wampís defeated them and were never conquered. That legacy of resistance continues today. 🌿⚡️

Bravo to Min Guilbeault , a man of integrity who, along w/ Mme McKenna, did their best to help transition Canada to a green economy. An economy of today & tomorrow.

We are indebted to both.

PM @markcarneyforpm.bsky.social should take note of both our Environment Ministers’ integrity.

Estimates based on the @IUCNRedList tell us that one million species are currently threatened with extinction. Wildlife populations have declined by 73% since 1970.

Let's ensure in 2025 we turn that around.

#COP30 "exposed the world as it is — haltingly and slowly tackling climate pollution, and fragmented by rising economic nationalism and protectionism, rather than the united, optimistic community of nations that produced the Paris climate agreement 10 years ago."

The world is fractured. The climate talks reflected that.
Delegates from nearly 200 nations — not including the U.S. — showed they could make some progress. But they deferred the hardest decisions.
