One of my papers got a review recently asking me to cite two papers that didn't exist. I complained, editor went back to reviewer, reviewer backpedaled and claimed they meant two different, real, papers which did not have the same content (but did have similar titles).

I cannot stress enough that most ppl don't ever even think about calling their reps. I talk to ppl in my fam about it and they go "Huh? What?". But your reps work for YOU. They need to know what you actually care about. When we call in big numbers it ALERTS them, cuz they rarely hear from us.

One argument I used to make to my students about why it was important to learn history (and historical thinking) is that someone was always going to be trying to tell you things were natural or had always been this way and that you needed to be able to see that as an exercise of power.
