Today is an exciting day for Public Street Plazas! The open call for interested plaza partners begins today. From now until Dec. 1 we encourage nonprofit groups, neighborhood associations, and business districts (who have community buy-in for a plaza) to submit a proposal for a seasonal plaza space.

Housing priorities vary depending on income:

According to a PSU / @oregonmetro.gov study of TOD residents, affordable housing residents prioritize cost & transit access, while market-rate residents focus on amenities, neighborhood quality & parking availability.

This policy brief highlights key findings from a survey conducted through the Transit app in February 2025, collected among transit riders who did and did not evacuate from the January 2025 Los Angeles fires.

📊 Among transit riders surveyed:
- 28% relied on rides from others
- 21% used transit to evacuate
- Black respondents were most likely to evacuate via transit (42%)

Our 2025 Bikeway Design workshop was held last month, with one of the largest groups we've had so far—20 practitioners from 15 states—who came to Portland to learn the ins & outs of designing a complete bicycle network. Check out some highlights from the week!
