Currently on the train to Squaresville.
This is how I feel when anyone talks about how they like their steak. My eyes glaze over and my mind leaves my body.
i am opposed to black coffee on principle bc i am opposed to people who tell you to drink or eat something a certain way bc "that's how it's supposed to be." you don't get brownie points from the universe for drinking whiskey neat instead of a jack and coke. but at least i can Tolerate it like this

"And AI is not slop. Please do not write that it is slop."
Satya Nadella even *acknowledging* the word “slop” feels like another mile marker for genAI’s downward trajectory.

Complaining about people using it only makes the word stronger.

Arguably far more radical than his socialism is his simple policy of Doing Things
So far the Mamdani administration’s strategy is “we have all these ideas about how to help people so let’s try to do them” which seems like such a rare thing and which then makes you say “wait why is that a rare thing?”
Hell yes, we're doing NYC CFPB.

the reason they don’t bother to manufacture the consent beforehand is that everyone just sort of does it for them post-facto now

Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra did put out political bangers for years though.
On the bright side, at least the Iraq War inspired some great art, like Revenge of the Sith

if you are talking today about how bad maduro was and were alive, at all, during the run-up to the iraq war you are potentially the dumbest person to ever live

Saw a very cracked and faded sticker on a light pole today that said “Fonda/Kerry”
for everyone who didn't live through John Kerry's presidential campaign, be advised: "This stupid and immoral war would be good if I were managing it" is not the poll-tested flex you think it is

This is my friend's cat. Its name is Cookie Swirl, and it disappeared in the American section of Charlotte airport on 11/10. We're asking for your help. She doesn't have any other socials, so if you can post it widely to see if anyone knows where it is. It's a little thing, but matters a lot to her.

The only solution to the increase of AI slop and its creep into normal people’s style choices is to write and speak with deranged and unpredictable flair.

Drip quotes and allusions, syntax so specific it cannot be modelled however large the data centres.

Annoying that humanity discovered the good flavour molecule and decided to be racist and conspiratorial about it. There should be a snack brand called "MSG boys" and every snack has lots of it

New York continues to put up some of the worst Dems that have ever existed.
These 20 House Democrats just joined Republicans in voting to fully repeal DC's police reform laws.

Wiping off the books critical laws on use of force, transparency, and preventing violent cops from getting rehired.

They think that they should have more say over DC police than the people of DC.
