I’m volunteering at the book fair at my kid’s school, and discovered Dav Pilkey paid for the whole thing.
For the entire school.
Every kid pre-k through fifth grade (the whole school) goes home with two free books.

I think it’s super important to do art for yourself. But also don’t deny those feelings you get when you share it and don’t get a response. It’s okay for it to disappoint you that no one else dug it but you. Keep making what you like.

Every time I read about banning books, I think of this:
Reading a book with a gay character will not make you gay any more than reading a book about Einstein will make you a genius.
