Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.

screenshot of discord text which reads: mechsploitation is like, brainwashing and dehumanization and degradation kinks underlining a brutally honest depiction of a very common power fantasy (what if i had a mech and i got to blow things up all the time). i think we have to look at a lot of kinks right now, ie dronekink, dollkink, hdg, omegaverse, empty spaces, mechsploitation etc, as sublimations of the powerlessness and morally reprehensible nature of existing as a working person in the 21st century west. there has always existed a tendency to sexualize our oppression, whether as a way of defeating it or a way of processing the impossibility of defeating it. the common thread among these kinks is often "i'm so fucking sick of having to care about The Real World, i wish someone would just destroy my consciousness and leave me a drooling cumdrunk fucktoy." it's really hard to tell where the line is between psychological emancipation and self-harm when it comes to (especially trans) people who engage in these kinks, but you have to take it on a case by case basis like mechsploitation hits right now for professional computer touchers especially, because every tool they've been trained to use that was once at least apparently morally neutral is now explicitly being used to support genocide and mass surveillance. in a world where we all have to pay rent and there's no recourse for the impoverished, it's impossible for everyone to say no to those jobs on moral grounds. so there's a sense of forced complicity, of brutal thought policing, and the dissonance of still being good at what you do regardless of the evils it's in service of.
