Senator Schatz, @schatz.bsky.social, rejects idea that Dems should wait for Trump to touch 'most popular' programs to fight.

"I'm not going to just wait until they touch the ACA. That's the kind of pundit-brain, poll-tested bullshit that got us into this mess."

New from me: Trump is a lame duck, an old, tired, easily manipulated one, whose vanity is a useful tool. Foreign leaders like Claudia Sheinbaum are right to mock him, and American elites should uncurl from the fetal position and get in on the fun.

It's almost impossible to grasp the magnitude of US wealth inequality & concentration:

$100K saved for retirement is a 4.3-inch stack of $100 bills.

$1M: 43 inches.

$1B: 3,600 feet. 12 football fields. World's tallest building is 2,722 feet.

Musk: $486B. 330 miles high. 60 Mt. Everests, stacked.

I wrote for Bad Faith Times about the behavioral advantages of the American right, which, according to recent research, values "in-group dominance" far more than its opponents.

Yes. I’ve always used “translator” but with the same meaning.
In work life — at various times, copywriter, creative director, website architecture, journalist, editor — I think of myself as an interpreter: learn enough to ask an expert questions and break those answers down to folk who don't have that expertise, including specialists in other disciplines.
