The majority of Americans are now aware that the purpose of increased ICE/CBP funding isn't to catch drug cartel members or whatever but to terrorize, kidnap, hurt, and kill ordinary people. The majority supports outright abolishing ICE; slashing ICE's & CBP's budgets should be an essential demand.
The New Democrats & the Progressive Caucus just put out a joint statement with a list of demands for immigration enforcement reforms... 2 things on this:
1-the New Dems are to the left of Schumer on this
2-nothing about clawing back the $175 billion in OBBBA funding for ICE

[email protected] should get a Pulitzer for this thread.
Since July, I've tracked at least 2,300 cases in which federal judges have ruled ICE has illegally detained people without bond or due process.

This is one that stands out:

Following the Kent State massacre in May 1970, a Gallup poll showed that 58% of Americans thought the shootings were justified. The night *before* the killings, Ohio's GOP governor described the student protesters this way: "They're the worst type of people that we harbor in America."

DHS getting basic 4th Amendment law wrong on its official Twitter account.

Seems like this post is bound to show up as an exhibit in one of the cases challenging ICE/Border Control enforcement actions.

🧵In my expert opinion as a researcher of vehicle ramming attacks, what has been publicly described in the video evidence does not support the claim that Renee Nicole Good was attempting a deliberate ramming attack when she was shot in Minneapolis on January 7, 2026. 1/7

This is *definitely* how you behave when you're trying to bring every resource to bear, rather than trying to cover up the unlawful behavior of your own personnel.
According to my sources, the FBI was initially open to a concurrent investigation with the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (the state agency that would do this investigation).

Trumpy U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen heard about this and intervened, barring the FBI from cooperating with local police.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota investigators say they can't access evidence after fatal ICE shooting and FBI won't work jointly on probe.

The shooting is shocking enough but the government's response is off the charts when you consider that this incident is forensically documented on video.

Important post for what we’re facing in Minneapolis
Bonus 182: Damages as a (Missing) Deterrent • It's worth reflecting on how different things might look right now if federal officers—or the federal government itself—faced a meaningful specter of monetary liability for constitutional violations.

Remember folks, you’re not allowed to impede law enforcement officers…unless you’re a election conspiracist Trump-loving MAGA domestic terrorist, in which case you can beat LEOs with the American flag and receive presidential praise and presidential pardon.

Those are the new, authoritarian rules.

Five years ago this moment, the President of the United States was watching on television as a violent mob overran the Capitol Building, and he did nothing to stop them or help the people trapped inside.

That happened.

They kidnapped the head of a Latin American country, replaced him with an insecure white racist who has spent his entire life arguing that Latinos are subhuman, and made clear that their primary aim is to plunder the country for its resources.

If it isn't yet clear, yes, we're the fucking baddies.
Per WASH POST, Stephen Miller will play an “elevated role” in Venezuela (what could go wrong!) and Machado won’t be president because she accepted the Nobel Peace Prize Trump wants (yes, seriously)

Someone made $400K by predicting Maduro's capture. Here's what happened
The winnings come as the rules governing prediction markets are still evolving.
