8. Trump’s policies have weakened women’s protection under Title IX. His prior administration introduced more barriers for sexual assault survivors on college campuses, and limited the jurisdiction of colleges to intervene when a student reports sex-based violence.

The funding for these long COVID research grants was given back bc disability activists urged us to contact our reps persistently, in high volume, and we did. Remember that these tactics work the next time someone tries to get you to passively react instead of taking an active part in organizing!

The phenomenon of “leftist language policing” is 99% a product of centrists whining about it constantly. I almost never encounter it in real life and requests for vocabulary updates are typically non-binding guidelines for formal written documents.
This take is worth what you paid for it, but I think the language policing stuff has outsized political significance.

1. Multiple hospital systems are complying with an unlawful executive order with dubious enforcement mechanisms and pulling their trans kids off care.

While most have not, those that have are harming their trans patients.

In my years of reporting on LGBTQ news this was by far the hardest.

But we are still here. You made it to Friday. You lived. Good job. That wasn’t easy.

Through a diversity of tactics, we will continue to live.

Rest up, drink water, find community, so that we can all be here tomorrow too.

And don’t stop at masking: we can clean the air! We can have a better, more accessible world.

You have to choose to build it. Dream it. Fight for it. Rather than just leave the disabled people behind. Like David said:

FIX YOUR HEARTS OR DIE.
Clean air in public buildings like schools and hospitals is possible via filtration systems and makes a real difference.

“The average kid in the average classroom would have a 50% less chance of getting sick if we did this intervention…”

Demand action from local school boards, hospital admin, etc.
Indoor air monitoring goes to school
Across the US, schools have begun measuring air quality en masse. Researchers are helping interpret the data

David Lynch spent the last portion of his life in isolation. He said it was due to being high-risk and unable to risk getting COVID.

He’s not the only person with disability or illness who’s been left behind.

Everywhere you go without an n95 is a place you’ve decided disabled people don’t belong.

Farmworkers have avoided bird flu testing bc they don't have paid sick days. Rather than offering to cover that loss, health departments have modified guidelines so that they can work while sick.

Covid is surging across the country, we are in an ongoing pandemic and Biden has dismantled ALL airborne disease mitigations and public health protections, and people believe they're getting sick from looking up at drones. Not, you know, huffing virus-laden air.
The mass hysteria fueled by "drone" sightings in New Jersey has resulted in some people who simply *read* about them experiencing coughing, runny noses and/or puffy eyes.

It can't be a winter cold, it simply MUST be the drones.

That, and more absurdity here: www.insurgentspod.com/p/ep-338-dro...
Ep. 338: Drone-vana Syndrome
Another public freak-out and mysterious illnesses as a result of the "drones" over New Jersey.
