I haven't dug up the phrase "so mad I could spit," but it's the only thing coming to mind right now.
Today is already proving hard not to doom-scroll, so I may just have to step away again.

Everyone commenting that nobody wants this — nor does it address the reasons people no longer shop there — is obviously right! But I wanna point out another thing:
This very nefariously transfers ~blame~ for the company’s performance (ahem, repercussions for its choices) onto store employees

"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.
They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.
If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."
🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.

Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

To what end? What is the thinking? I'm seriously confused? Why try so hard to not feed people like this, like they can't SEE YOU WORKING AS HARD AS YOU CAN TO KEEP THEM STARVING??!!

BREAKING: DOJ goes to SCOTUS trying to stop a district court order that USDA pay out full SNAP benefits this month.
The First Circuit denied an administrative stay, but has not yet ruled on the stay request. And, CNN reported that USDA is already processing payments.
DOJ went to SCOTUS anyway.

Buried in the Big Beautiful Bill were changes to food assistance that demanded “any future change be cost-neutral. Translation: no more benefit increases, even if food prices skyrocket.”
The result was “institutionalized hunger.”

The truly maddening thing is that, unlike when I was a young man in science and the materials and engineering just weren’t there yet, the future is *right there.* The problem is *solved*. What’s holding us back is not just greed, but this bizarre nostalgia, an obsession with petro- masculinity.
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

You can tell how not awake I am by the fact that I just tried to put one pair of prescription glasses on over the other pair that were already on my face.
...don't do that...if there is any chance it will make you feel nausea like it just did me...don't do it.

Since I rolled credits on the main story of Pokemon Legends ZA, I got curious about my original X and Y saves...dug out my 3DS and carts and...uh, I guess I finished X but not Y? (And looking at other gens, a similar thing.)
Also, there are still SO MANY Pokemon trapped on those carts! Ack.

Yeah, so, I'm just gonna restate here again that I much prefer cooperative games instead of competitive play needed to get a reward/complete a task. I feel like the same end could be accomplished with just a bit of tweaking the formula.

Gods above, In just the past 12 hours I’ve seen so many old talking points dug up to support the same dehumanizing attitudes. I wasn’t expecting 3 other ones to greet me right after waking up.
