Trans rights are workers rights.

If our labour activism does not explicitly and intentionally include gender diverse workers, then we need to do better. No workers left behind — period.

It's DAY 12 of our national, open-ended ULP strike.

Thousands of baristas in over 65 cities are on strike demanding higher wages, better hours, and an end to union-busting. And we're just getting started 🔥

Solidarity with #DC33
Last month, Mayor Cherelle Parker's city budget gave tax cuts to the wealthiest corporations in Philly. Now, she claims there's no money left for striking city workers to make a living wage.

Text DC33 to 30403 to contact the Mayor's office & tell her to give AFSCME DC 33 workers a fair contract.

Though shy of where we’d like to be, this is a huge step for organized labour.

Imperialism is anti-worker.
When bombs drop, workers die.

We have a long way to go, but we will never stop fighting.

I’ve never been so ashamed of my union or its leadership — to punish observers w/o the right to speak by removing them from a meeting for silently protesting harmful & racist remarks of an EBM (in violation of the statement of respect) going unchecked is utterly feckless.

The rumors are true: I did, in fact, picket with Northwestern’s dining hall workers.

Jokes aside, economic security for the working class with always start with unions. You could say they’re the most practical solution.

Oh yeah? Cool I'm expecting price controls for food, housing and transportation, regulation of the telecoms companies, clean water on all reserves, protection of workers' right to strike... oh no sorry he just means he's gonna make it more expensive to buy products from the US
Trudeau tells Canadians he won’t sugarcoat it: “this is going to be tough.” He says the government will provide direct support to people and industries to help them get through this, “no matter how long this lasts, no matter what the cost”

Folks make bad choices every day, not just when voting — it just means we need to get up each day & choose solidarity. Keep your head up. Get involved in your community, organize & keep fighting for workers, healthcare, education & public services.

Voting won’t save us, so we have to.

it's always up the workers around here, but even if it wasn't, @nymagunion.bsky.social's pro-labor approval matrix would be more than enough to get me to pledge not to cross the digital picket line if @nymag.com forces them to strike for a fair contract. you should too: nymagunion.org/reader-pledge

Per that same friend: In 1978 Justin’s daddy did the same thing The union stayed on strike “illegally” CUPW leader Jean-Claude Parrot was thrown in jail. Through their militancy, postal workers have protected all working people, winning and thus normalizing rights like parental leave.

My friend recently said it’s funny how capitalism is lauded as a ‘free market’ economy where sellers set prices which buyers can choose to pay or not - but when workers try to set the price for their labour, the government intervenes to tell them what the price will be

Remember, your boss pays you with money generated by your labour.

This is a discriminatory ban based on flawed research in a blatant attempt to pander to bigoted idiots enacted by feckless politicians that will have dire consequences *exclusively* for trans kids. UK

Forgot to share this yesterday when it was more timely but - here's my coverage of the United Kingdom's ban on puberty blockers - I'm particularly proud of this piece in relation to other daily articles of mine.

If the success of your business relies on the labour of @cupwsttp.bsky.social members, then you should support their struggle for job security & living wages.

Support workers, & support businesses who support workers!

Quit blaming the postal strike on workers who are standing up for safe jobs and fair wages. Union jobs set the standard for all work places & you have CUPW to thank for parental leave - so if you want the strike to end quickly, get your ass out to your local line and show some solidarity 💪
