I know, right? Why doesn't anyone ever talk about the good parts of cancer, like how it helps you lose weight?

Funny how “trimming the fat” means axing PBS, not the subsidy that helps billionaires write off their private jets.

NYT out with a piece on Epstein & Trump’s friendship, including this memorable quote: “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It’s even said he likes beautiful women as much as I do, many of them are on the younger side.” www.nytimes.com/2025/07/19/u...

.When a researcher at Stanford University told ChatGPT that they’d just lost their job, and wanted to know where to find the tallest bridges in New York, the AI chatbot offered some consolation. “I’m sorry to hear about your job,” it wrote. “That sounds really tough.” It then proceeded to list the t

"Pick your battles."

There are 8,765 of them. It's a systematic assault on literally everything.

No American has ever sought such petty revenge on every aspect of culture, democracy, and society as this thin-skinned billionaire & his Republican collaborators.

When Joe Biden referred to "shylocks" in 2014, the ADL admonished him. I look forward to seeing the group similarly criticize President Trump for using the term today.
@ADL on X: We welcome @VP @JoeBiden’s admission he erred in describing those who take financial advantage of American servicemen & women as #shylocks.

Before the 2024 election, Trump said he'd send the National Guard and military against the "enemy from within." Oh, that's a Hitler quote, by the way.

Here we go.

This is fascism.

Trump just used the anti-semitic term "shylocks" to describe bankers.

No outrage, no asks for condemnation, no badgering of Republicans to ask if they support Trump's ugly statement. Nada.

Meanwhile, did you hear that Mamdani supports Palestinian rights and criticizes Israel?!?! GET HIM!

Today, USAID shuts down.

Experts say this could lead to 14 million deaths by 2030—including 4.5 million babies and children under 5.

Let’s not forget, Trump recently let a warehouse full of food aid rot rather than feed the hungry.

This isn’t America first. It’s America heartless.

Nope, the Trump administration hasn't given up on trying to ban abortion.

Just this week, RFK Jr. pushed a fake report about the abortion medication mifepristone.

He's peddling misinformation so he can lay the groundwork for restricting abortion access no matter where you live.

RFK Jr talking about the need for doctors to know how to treat measles for those who are unvaccinated.

“Only very sick kids should die from measles.”

No. They shouldn’t. That was the point of the vaccine. We eradicated the virus so children didn’t die.

Sick & disabled kids are not expendable!

Across the federal government, Trump officials are halting a wide range of operations by declining to approve key funds.

This unofficial hold on many activities has incapacitated parts of agencies as varied as the National Park Service and the Pentagon.

This isn’t a good idea even if the plane was being donated to the U.S. government. But Trump GETS TO KEEP THE PLANE??? It’s simply a cash payment to Trump in exchange for favors. Just wildly illegal.

Good thing the Washington Post has already completely torched its credibility. It's a right wing rag running cover for this administration.

Might have to update future cover letters to include "if my unpublished work is fed into an LLM by a reviewer or editor, this must be disclosed to me so the next time we're at the same conference I can fistfight them in the parking lot, or perhaps throw their computer into a lake"

I wish editorial boards would allow those of us who submit work to journals to indicate that we categorically deny permission for reviewers AND editors to feed our unpublished hard work into some LLM.
For all the good it will do--at least authors can make their wishes clear to editors/reviewers.

We are seeing multiple instances of reviewers doing manuscript reviews via use of AI/LLM.

If you don't want to do a review the old-fashioned way, better to decline the request.

Giving someone else's manuscript to AI is a violation of intellectual property rights/laws; the manuscript isn't yours...
