My least popular (and most correct) view is that cars should be automatically limited to the local speed limit. Put the pedal to the floor and you still can't go over 25mph in a residential area.

(15 in Manhattan btw)
There is no possible justification for limiting e-bikes to 15mph but not cars.

Rümeysa Öztürk was detained by ICE for her op-ed in the Tufts Daily.

Now, the student newspaper is sharing her first public account of her experiences of being forced to live in cramped, unsanitary conditions and having her medical and religious needs ignored.

After a very long week I went through more New Zealand photos. Here is a landscape in the Northland I just love. Wish I could be there again now.

The whole point is not just the state disappearing whoever they want, it's you being in the habit of accepting the state choosing whom to disappear, without question. It's submission to the state. Same as with Gitmo after 9/11. The state's judgment must not be questioned.
This should INFURIATE you

Scientists have just cured pancreatic cancer in some patients with personalized mRNA vaccines. Pancreatic cancer. And this Trump administration wants to throw it all away.

They’re throwing away a cure for cancer.

This is so terribly fucked up. The racism is so blatant. Absolutely disgusting from this already abhorrent administration.
1. the subtext of these talking points is that nobody can do jobs as well as white guys, so if a woman or person of color is in a role they are inherently suspect

2. do we even know if a woman or person of color had anything to do w/ the DCA crash? or just making assumptions?

A pic of one of my favorite groups of bees, the green metallic sweat bees (Agapostemon spp.). And a reminder that planting native flowering plants is a great way to affect positive change in your hyper local community. (Winter is a great time to seed on rainy day) The native bees will thank you.
