Tesla’s profits are tanking, sales are down, and the company is propped up by Bitcoin, government subsidies, and vibes.
Tesla earnings results are a disaster—and it's all thanks to Elon Musk
Being a pompous Nazi is apparently not good for business, as the latest Tesla earnings report indicates. For the third time in four quarters, Tesla missed revenue targets, this time by a hefty 5.25%.…

If I were the PM of Canada or Mexico, I would impose export duties on anything that Trump exempts from his tariffs. Those exemptions are your guide to "what will cause Trump political pain."

I guess this Ethics Committee report on Matt Gaetz puts in context why he was the only vote against the 2017 Human Trafficking Bill...

Because he was enjoying the ugly fruits of human trafficking with underage prostitutes.

Happy to explain to why Trump wants Greenland.

Greenland is huge and mostly ice. Trump is aware that climate change is real and believes Greenland will shortly become like Iceland (which, ironically, is mostly green space). Stealing Greenland would leave a Louisiana Purchase-style land-grab legacy.

The same is true of the Panama Canal. So when Trump makes noises about taking these things without them being freely given, understand that he is engaging in global terrorism by threatening to do something illegal by force that would result in loss of life, constitute a war crime, and be Putinesque.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive

Discussing blanket pardons draws us off of the real issue, the concern that Trump will pervert the criminal justice system & use DOJ as a political tool, which is forcing the Biden administration into these considerations. Don't forget why we're here.

Call me crazy, but I think Justin Sun, a Chinese national being prosecuted for fraud by the SEC, sending Trump $18 million should be a bigger story

The direct enrichment of Trump by a foreign national weeks before he takes office has merited no coverage in the NYT or Washington Post
A Chinese national, charged with fraud by the SEC, just sent Donald Trump $18 million
Chinese Crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun paid $6.2 million for a banana — sold by Sotheby's as conceptual art — and then ate it last Friday.

The GOP is not a political party.
It’s an organized crime syndicate.
It’s a frat party.
It’s a Klan rally.
It’s the modern-day Spanish inquisition.
But it’s no longer a legitimate political party.

Trump looked at the states where "Mexican" is the chief foreign nationality and thought, I can seize power by exploiting the hatred many Americans have for Mexicans.

Then in 2024 he realized that many male Latino voters also want to feel superior to recent Mexican immigrants.

A win-win for racism.
