The wild thing is, learning to do research competently is something that also requires decades of experience and people wildly overestimate their capacity (and AI’s) to evaluate evidence. Even many doctors are terrible at it outside their specialty.

The hubris of the statement invites contempt.

No, weight loss is not a positive side-effect of a serious illness…

Being malnourished is not a “bright side” of being unwell… it is actually a very dangerous aspect that can make things even harder.

Weight stigma and fatphobia are fucking abhorrent things.

Or just keep platforming Republicans who have a 5th grade understanding of biology so they get more trans people killed, sure 🤷🏻‍♂️

Also this comparison shopping idea is ridiculous. A ridiculous part of my husband’s job is convincing someone at his hospital or another one that they should admit his patient into their service and then arguing with three people and forcing them to talk to each other so one of them finally agrees.

For the record, it does make a difference in that if you go to urgent care needing stitches, they have you sign a form saying “this procedure will cost between $1200 and $4700” and so when you get two separate bills from the urgent care and the doctor totaling $3700…
We have a law like this in Colorado and it makes no difference.

Striking a boat full of unarmed civilians is murder. The first strike was murder. The followup strike was also murder.

We're not at war. It's not a "war crime". Everyone involved, including the POTUS, SecDef, the Admiral who relayed it and the person who pressed the button needs to be on trial.
