This is Chicago this weekend. There is not any type of crisis here except the one our govt. has manufactured.

Who could ever have imagined when I played a fictional rebel who joined the Resistance to oppose a criminal Authoritarian & wannabe King, it would be happening in real-life?

Decrying violence against political opponents rings a bit hollow when you pull Secret Service protection from your political opponents.

Sometimes you read to escape; sometimes you read to remember; and sometimes you read to learn. Time’s Undoing offers all three. Thought it might be a “heavy read,” but it was perfect for this time. A reminder of what America has always been, and a vision of hope in steady resistance.

Thank you Kings River Life Magazine for the great review! ❤️

“…Wow! This story starts out with a bang and does not stop until the very end…”

“…Buried Seeds is a twisty and propulsive mystery that can be read as a stand alone for readers new to the series…”

We’ve bombed Iran. And dismantled our joint terrorism task force. And sent a third of the FBI to help ICE. And gutted the National Security Council. And a drunk guy is in charge at the pentagon. And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

New Review
Buried Seeds by Verónica Gutiérrez is a book of mysteries that end up more entangled than they seem at first glance.

Never thought it would be this timely. 😢
"His mom had conditioned Gamaliel to avoid the police at all costs. She’d given him “the talk” about his immigration status one day when he was little and had tried to take candy from the Abe Grocery."

“You okay?” Yolanda leaned in with a kiss that Sydney barely returned. Something was definitely not okay.

Things are bleak, but I still find music that moves me to tears and writing that feeds my mind and electrifies my soul and art that amazes me. In the darkness I see a lot of brilliance. It’s inspiring. Whatever you do, keep making art.

My niece found this charred piece of sheet music in her front yard. My brother calls it “a little bit of someone’s life from many miles away.”

A heartfelt thanks to friends and family who have checked in on us. Other than bad air quality, we are okay. But, damn! This has to be the worst disaster L.A. has ever experienced. I don’t know how some of these communities, like poor Altadena, recover.
