Today I was complimenting Pepper's hackle feathers when I realized a cascade of things:

- hackle feathers are on the neck so hackle must relate to necks
-> I have used the phrase "hackles raised" for a long time
-> I did not think hackle meant neck
-> there was a vague sense it was low on the leg

was called a hag for turning my laptop around and telling @ashlukens.bsky.social "this is you". the truth is often scary & upsetting but I persist in being an absolute beacon of it, you're welcome friends & family!!

My friend @esselle.bsky.social made a book trailer for #DeadMansBlood 😳 She was a creative co-conspirator for this toxic little book and a perfect cheerleader.

Dead Man's Blood is an adult horror romance; it's spicy, it's angry, and it's really gay.

What song do you think this 2002 J-Drama about a poor family who owns a ramen shop used for its ending theme?

Overcoming creative blocks isn’t always about "just pushing through" — or discipline, or desire, or inspiration, or sheer will — it’s about being kind to yourself, acknowledging your underlying fears, developing supportive habits, shifting your mindset, and being patient with the process.

This is why questions like 'are you a plotter or a pantser' make zero sense to me. I'm a person who does whatever seems appropriate in order to create half of a first draft, and then actually gets down to the hard work. Possibly I'm a trash compactor.

"Do you want to turn on sticky keys?" No I want to be the kind of person who starts their next sentence with certainty but for the time being I seem to be the kind who hits shift then goes "no not quite..." five times in a row
