As artists it can feel like there's a pressure to make art faster, more generic, and marketable for a wide audience. Generating art is that idea to an extreme. I think we need to embrace niche art that has thought and care put into it. Not just for clients, but making something only for yourself.

You can make art.
The biggest step isn't getting good at art, it's being willing to make art that doesn't match the idea of "good art" in your head.
Making a lot of imperfect art is an essential step toward making perfect art; a counterproductive goal you shouldn't have anyway.

My current following is mostly other writers for the upcoming anthology and it feels extremely Good. Internet presence wise, I've always focused on visual art because that's what gets attention but writing means a lot more to me. I want to be more & more writing/book/story focused in the future.

It's still interesting to me how many right-wing grifters are failed creatives, failed actors, and basically failed theatre kids.

I need to seriously lock in and figure out how to Do Social Media again and make things look VAGUELY professional (I am putting this off) but Bluesky is not making me tense at the level twitter did even pre-X so that's great.
