One of my beloved clients gifted me a copy of Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman and I’ve been alternately reading the hardcover & listening to the audiobook

The audiobook narrator sounds SO MUCH like Kronk from the Emperor’s New Groove and it is an absolute hoot

Take photos of aurora if you can. Share as many as you want. Let the magical lights fill you with joy. Let sharing a communal experience bring you delight.

Life’s too short to be a hipster if it’s preventing you from joy and connection. And seeing the full extent of magical sky lights!

Since I no longer have any immediate costume-related deadlines looming, I decided to slow down and make something simple just for the sheer joy of process and technique. Started this self-drafted 18th-century shift yesterday and I’m sewing the entire thing by hand, no machine whatsoever.

November 10 aka Eddie Fitz Day officially marks the beginning of Big Boat Season for me so hope y’all are ready for insufferable amounts of boatposting until like. March probably.

I WILL be rewatching M&C a dozen times. I WILL be yelling about HMS Terror. I WILL be working on a model ship. LETS GO
Bilbo putting on the ring meme but it's me with the opening scene of Master and Commander in which the HMS Surprise is ambushed by the French privateer Acheron

Well, this is timely! New evidence presented ahead of the 50th anniversary of the disaster prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the SS Edmund Fitzgerald sank in heavy seas because the captain drove it under the water instead of on top. "I guess he was trying something new," say researchers.

Now that I’ve worn it to the Event (my friend’s SWORD-THEMED wedding in which I was a member of the Bridal Guard), it’s time for a (long 😅) thread dissecting this whole getup that I made entirely from scratch, including dyeing and pattern drafting 🪡 🧵 :
