Crabs! Buckets!
The Erika Kirk v. Candace Owens feud isn't just juicy.

It's a sign that the MAGA movement is destabilizing, especially as Trump gets weaker.

It's also a story of how the GOP ceded leadership to greedy influencers, and now that's backfiring.

My gift to you today: the gut-rotted misery of Graham Linehan’s wretched life ❤️
Graham Linehan has such little self-awareness he *really* doesn’t understand how totally unhinged he seems in his ‘woe is me’ batshit crazy ranting! 😬

He’s the ‘cautionary tale’ of what obsessive ‘gender critical’ transphobia leads to: no friends, no life, and spaghetti carbonara for one!

“Crystal Wilsey, a cashier at a Cinnabon franchise in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, said some unforgivable things to a Somali couple who had the temerity to request more caramel on a pecan cinnamon roll. But I don’t think she should have been summarily fired.”

Whoa now you earned your pay here Arash.
I wrote about why we should not celebrate someone losing their job, especially in today’s America, even when they’ve done terrible racist things.

Losing a job should also be harder and involve workers’ bodies not unilateral management decisions.

Why the Cinnabon Story Doesn’t Make Me Happy
The left should be promoting working-class solidarity, not delighting in seeing workers summarily dismissed.

Update: It’s hot in Perth.

It’s going to get SO MUCH HOTTER by Sunday.

Whereupon I will fly to far North Queensland, for secret reasons, and 39° will be a balmy memory. And let’s not even mention the fucking humidity.

Oh Christ the humidity :(

Higgins was raped in Reynold’s office but it’s Reynolds who is the true victim, who deserves Higgins’ payout, who has suffered the most.

May Reynolds never again know peace or happiness. She is vile

Is this bad? It seems bad. It seems really fucking bad indeed.

A colleague thinks one of the reasons Putin is utterly resistant to a ceasefire is the army would outright mutiny if told to resume warfare, and that makes sense to me. The slaughter tap would be near impossible to turn back on.
One Russian paper today sees "a split in the Western camp. This is objectively good for Russia.” Other papers: “crisis” in metals industry & “more than 40% of working Russians surveyed have barely enough/not enough money before payday for food & essential goods.” #ReadingRussia

Hey guys, due to Australia’s social media ban that came into effect today, you will no longer be able to message me on BlueSky. They’re requiring us to use an ID to prove our age to access messages now (yes, I’m not joking). The government didn’t let us vote for this, we are being forced to comply.

Ah, 9 December: 164th anniversary of the birth of Catherine-Elise Müller, aka Hélène Smith, who communicated with the spirit of Victor Hugo – and with Martians, whose landscapes she painted👇. And was a reincarnation of a Hindu princess, and Marie Antoinette. Obviously

Y'all the latest episode of the #Kilauea #eruption just went CRAZY. It looks like pressure built up enough to explode out the ground around the two existing vents (first few seconds), leading to a massive surge in lava fountaining.🌋🤯

Yesterday NZ moved to ban puberty blockers for trans teens
1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

It’s the 150th anniversary of the birth of Aleister Crowley, the man who – among *many* other things – once put an acrostic in an “apparently innocuous book of devotional verse” which spelt out ‘The Virgin Mary I desire but arseholes set my prick on fire’ www.weiserantiquarian.com/pages/books/...

Ah, 9 November – a sad one, this: 59th anniversary of the day Paul McCartney died, forcing the other Beatles to replace him with an orphan they had trained to impersonate him, and then (obviously) put clues in songs and on album covers so people could find out anyway
