I studied for a while at the University of Otago. The university was the absolute economic powerhouse of Dunedin, the host city, which was otherwise fairly dreary and conservative. My god the university was amazing. Vibrant and humming with life and ideas and community, it was a joy to study there
Yes. Universities are “vital hubs in towns and cities” and are big employers of local people / support local businesses
