It’s impressive how one commentator can be this confidently wrong.

The term “sex assigned at birth” was used in the 60s by obstetricians to explain the cursory way that sex was determined, based on external genitalia alone. It was used in the DSM III-R published in 1987.

Sex workers have been ringing the alarm on internet privacy, government surveillance and banking censorship for so long my ears hurt.
I spoke with Jack and Sam of Tech Talk Live about legislation in congress regarding ID verification to visit sites, end of end to end encryption, the proposed repeal of section 230, Mastercard and Visa censoring adult sites’ content and much more!

Benjamin Britten's birthday.

Another year in which his lack of cancellation becomes more conspicuous.

Is it a matter of time, or does it make a difference that there's no evidence of an offence?

People like porn, people are horny, if you want to be a content cop and police what makes people normal, I'm treating you like a cop. Eat shit.

policyreview.info/articles/new... An interesting piece from @jere.my (who I don't always agree with but he's right to be concerned about censorship).

It seems there are multiple issues here.

1) A lack of transparency from governments and private actors.

2) Sensationalistic framing practices.

In my legal practice, I’m encountering an increasing volume of questions about false positives in online child-safety reporting systems and the legal risks they create for adults engaging in lawful conduct. I’ve been sounding the alarm about this for years, but it’s only getting worse, not better.

Porn and erotica are important and societally valuable forms of speech, and the defense of them, in the face of state and church attempts at repression, is a necessary political act.

My whole life, advocating war has been fed to me as “the adult position,” akin to drinking your coffee black or reading the business section of the newspaper. Let’s be very clear — war is the childish nonsense of impulsive destructive idiots playing baby-brained video games with real human lives.

This isn't a new issue, but in an increasingly age-gated internet world, it's about to get a lot worse.
