Why is there still more insane isekai stuff coming out every season. Surely there isn’t a market for this stuff anymore? Is this what has replaced the great deluge of slice of life stuff from the midn00s?

Im on the last mission of the original Dishonored and its introduced a mechanic of just spawning in more guys after you’ve meticulously spent 20 minutes working your way through taking out the current guys. No other point in the game has done this. Frustrating shite.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners had a fantastic ending.

Gurren Lagann had an incredible ending.

Attack on Titan has a great ending, despite the wider fandom saying otherwise.
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

I’m late to the Stranger Things ending but it was just… fine. I mean it’s been downhill since the first season anyway. I’ve seen far worse trite people herald as good in recent years. It went on too long tbh, but that’s what happens when something makes infinite money I guess.

I agree with this, though there are always exceptions to the rule (the Sonic movie team hiring Tyson Hesse and his crew to bring that original film back on track after the disastrous original trailer).
Don’t do focus groups. Don’t include “superfans” in preproduction. Don’t ask audiences what they want ffs. Audiences don’t know what they want. If they did we wouldn’t need art
Were 90s kids clamoring for a Batman cartoon with 1930s Art Deco aesthetics? Is that what the market demanded? Or did some really smart creative people have a vision and make a genre-defining hit that sustained 20 years of TV shows? If you want success look for vision, not just metrics.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have shown Alzheimer’s disease can be REVERSED- not just prevented. Using a potent neuroprotective compound called P7C3-A20, they found RESTORING balance to a central cellular energy molecule (NAD+) not only PREVENTED disease features but REVERSED them, EVEN at late stages.

The fact they’re doing a Sleeping Dogs movie rather than making a new game shows entirely why video games are in a shit place.

Been playing Dishonored the past few days. I’ve attempted it before but bounced off it. Now I’m a fair way in I want to say it has the same vibes as Blood Omen 2. Which is a good vibe as that game is very underrated.

Anyone checked out that new Spartacus series yet? I loved the original run. But I can’t imagine Ashur being the main character and not an antagonist.

The downside to the whole of the western tech industry doubling down on web app development created this a long with the idea that new stuff is always around the corner. I suspect the whole stuffing of genAI stuff into everything is a Hail Mary of an industry that has run out of apps to make.
My conspiracy theory about genAI in games blowing up more and more by big companies is that they’ve all got a ton of investors insisting they use genAI tools otherwise they(investors) won’t be able to bankroll em anymore

Magic wand tool in Photoshop is absolutely fucking useless since they’ve added the generative fill shite in. Imagine just embracing enshittification.

Finished Arkham Knight a day or two ago and that was a game. It’s a shame they never let Rocksteady do a proper sequel focused on the Bat family without Bats. I think a proper rivalry between Red Hood, Nightwing, Azrael and Robin would have been interesting.

Right. I’m not being funny but why does that Street Fighter film look like a real terrible YouTube fan film. Costumes and everything look terrible.

That new live studio recording of Bland Street Bloom proves that Sikth still have it. Honestly with them and Stampin’ Ground back in the saddle it’s time for underrated pissed off grimy British metallic hardcore to take its place at the table.
