Daily atrocities.
Record displacement.
But we are not powerless.
Solutions are within reach. But everyone needs to hold up their end of the bargain.

High Commissioner @filippograndi.unhcr.org gave this rallying cry as he opened his final #ExCom.

"The sense of helplessness you might feel — that doomful, sinking exhaustion that creeps in as the headlines scroll by — isn’t weakness.
It’s empathy. It’s the body’s way of acknowledging that what’s happening matters."

Was there a memo to all Atlantic tropical cyclones this year or something where they were all told to avoid the US

A trough of low pressure is emerging over the Bay of Campeche from the Yucatan Peninsula, and continues to produce a large area of disorganized showers/thunderstorms. Some slow development of this system is possible before it moves inland again over southern Mexico late Wednesday/early Thursday.

“We had a really bad agreement in 1922 that did not make a good decision about how best to allocate the water in the river,” he said. “Now we have to confront that in some way, and we probably need a whole new contract.”

"The mere existence of fear is also a prerequisite for something of incredible value in the fight against fascism: courage. For courage is what ultimately emerges when we overcome fear, when panic turns to calm, and fear itself turns to unwavering resolve."

These are scary times, and it’s okay to feel afraid. The challenge is learning how to respond instead of retreating. This piece offers insight into managing that fear and transforming it into courage, understanding, and tangible steps forward.

RFK Jr’s attack on science has close parallels to Lysenko’s attack on genetic in Soviet Russia.

Speak in populist press, not journals
Make quick solution to problems
Blame failures on internal enemies

He needed a supporting anti-elitist government

A good podcast
