1. Companies are going to ignore the law and harm someone
2. A person or class action is going to sue and win
2a. Company drags it out in appeal
3. Depending on the money lost or the publicity, other companies will start following the law

California has now banned algorithmic price fixing.

The state has outlawed the practice of landlords colluding to raise prices using rental software and AI.

This is a huge victory for renters in the biggest state in the country.

I don't think people realize - There is effectively NO 4th Amendment rights any more. They don't need a warrant. They just can obtain data collected by public companies that watch your every move. Surveillance capitalism is for sale and the government is buying. Ring, Flock, Palantir, Lexis Nexis...

We are living in a time of mass surveillance and tracking. Californian consumers should be able to easily control their privacy and AB 566 would make that possible. @governor.ca.gov sign AB 566 and ensure that millions of Californians can opt out of the sale and sharing of their private information!
