If One Nation and today's Coalition had their way Australia would be flushed with guns and mass shootings would be happening much more often.

We support gun laws, don’t understand why anyone in a city needs guns or why anyone anywhere needs lots of guns. If you’re pro-gun you’re pro-killing things and therefore you’re a weirdo.

"we must refuse framing that says the choice is between passionate moral conviction & social cohesion. That framing is false. You can be morally outraged about Gaza;you can be morally outraged about antisemitism;you can be morally outraged about terrorism, without turning outrage into collective blame.
“A Muslim schoolkid in Sydney did not plan the Bondi attack. A Palestinian Australian nurse did not pull a trigger at Bondi. A migrant doctor did not write a manifesto. Just as a Jewish family in Bondi did not order an airstrike in Gaza.”

Incredible the entire press gallery is actually buying the line (promulgated by Netanyahu!) that Albanese is personally to blame for the Bondi attack.

No one is actually explaining how firing academics for opposing Israel’s genocide would stop two people who never went to uni from this shooting.

I reckon Albo should have been at the entrance checking security passes.
Given that ASIO acknowledges that the shooter was known to them, that he is a known associate of a Salafist doing seven years on a terror charge, what else Albo might have done, is ensure sufficient competence within federal security agencies as to avoid a cockup like this man owning 6 guns.

Later Josh Frydenberg also blamed it all on the PM saying “words are not enough” but when asked (repeatedly) what the PM could’ve done to prevent the attack he went off into a dishonest rant about how the govt responded to prev incidents. Using terror for personal gain. Shameful

Already great gun laws??? They're 30 years old. Should have had a comprehensive check every 5-10 years built in when the laws were made. Would have had the latest one in 2021 with the next due in 2026!!!
Americans

There’s been a mass shooting, now is not the time to talk about gun laws

Australia

There’s been a mass shooting, we need to review our already great gun laws

It starts slow (and the length is extended due to an unnecessary Q&A) however the points made are significant and empirically verified.

This is a remarkable video . Gough Whitlam was in fine form here . He dissected the press and corrected the narrative shamefully peddled by the right.
