I refuse to shut up about this: NYC started charging $9 to bring a car into our most transit-rich zone, the haters & trolls predicted doom, but traffic evaporated instantly and here’s Times Square tonite (even after the holiday tourists have left). For a better future, build transit & price driving!

Saw this comment on a headphone review.

People have zero awareness of the fact that driving a car (with the windows up, potentially music playing) substantially reduces your auditory awareness of the outside world too.

Because that’s just considered normal.

This. The cohort of 16-9 votes at council win, and claim victory and try to convince us that they’re doing the right thing and yet year after year, we see the same issues: chronic underfunding of social infrastructure while $ bleeds out to unsustainable suburban/rural wards.

Councillor Tim Tierney is wrong about ‘Chronic No-Voters’ in his Ottawa Citizen Op/Ed on Saturday.
His opinion would be easier to take seriously if the comments weren’t coming from someone with a 15-year track record of being a reliable yes-man for every budget. 1/21

This scathing Globe & Mail article on Lansdowne 2.0 touches on every concern that I and 9 of my Council colleagues raised about the massive risk now faced by taxpayers. The entire country is now aware of our folly. Remember this for the 2026 elections. www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/edit...
Globe editorial: The City of Ottawa’s Hail Mary plan for redevelopment
The Lansdowne 2.0 plan depends on rosy assumptions, leaving taxpayers potentially on the hook if ambitions fall short

This is a small snow plow for sidewalks

If your city plows the roads but leaves sidewalks up to property owners, your city hates pedestrians.

There needs to be trials and there needs to be people sent to die in a prison cell. Consequences must fall on the people who issued the orders and those who carried them out. We must make the punishment of these people a national spectacle that will be remembered for generations.

🎃 Halloween Safety Reminder

Drivers, please slow down and stay alert this evening. Expect extra foot traffic, excited kids, and reduced visibility after dark.

Let’s make sure every trick-or-treater gets home safely.

Last weekend saw a lot of road closures in Toronto. Great to see ambulances using bike lanes to get people in distress where they need to go quickly.

The trope touted by Ford and his like that bike lanes delay EMS response times has been proven false time and time again.

Truly so embarrassing AND dangerous of Canadian MPs to "mourn" ding dong's death in the House of Commons.

Y'all celebrated a literal Nazi in the House and were shamed within an inch of your lives for it (Justifiably!) and then mere months later, pull this stunt?

Just some advice as both a seasoned activist & a survivor of domestic violence : The idea that how you react to violence dictates whether or not more violence will be inflicted upon you/your community is a framing that only helps those in power.
