Show a person some numbers, make them think for a day. Get a person to educate themselves on Saskatchewan’s ridiculous political financing laws, maybe they can stop being an idiot.

But realistically, limited on digits, and internet search exists.

Once again, speed cameras work.
(This is data from Ottawa, published in 2024.)

This correlates with my experience of going to Scotland and driving in a city with a 20 MPH speed limit just one time.

Not the running for office part though.

Keep it coming. I know there’s no shame in this government, but maybe there will be enough outrage for Ford to reverse on this.

NEW: A vehicle assigned to a Ford cabinet minister has been recorded at stunt driving speeds 12 times.

The premier's office suggested it was the same driver each time, and implied they still work for the government. #OnPoli

Fascists do love consuming cruelty as spectacle. Ive seen it so often in India, where people I know delight in sharing and reading and watching images and videos that enact violence and cruelty on the bodies of those they deem the other.
I am always shocked by it, always.

ICE is hog tying protesters in Portland and removing them on Dollies.

This is dangerous and could cause serious injury.

The Department of Homeland Security thinks it’s a joke.

They’ve shared this video with the tagline “Refuse to Walk? We’ll give you a ride”.

Stay strong Portland.

The annoying thing is that data backs up the bigger is safer idea.

Not because they’re legitimately safer, but just because they’re relatively safer when the large size vehicles of all the other drivers out there are taken into account.

It’s arms race logic.

I would absolutely trust EU regs more.

I was looking into how to avoid storing data out of the US and a friend who knows a lot more than I do advised me to just keep looking outside of Canada.

That was before Bill C-2 came around.

Moe’s gotta have a tough time keeping straight which days he’s all about provincial sovereignty and keeping the feds out of provincial business and which days he thinks the feds have a right to do whatever they want.

Don’t forget to check how much the Sask Party is funded by Alberta oil companies.

Watch carefully, everyone. The whole world must see this.
This is what russia brings to the world — only dеstruction.
Nothing else. This country knows no other way.
Every day, russia dеstroys more and more Ukrainian cities.

A fun bit would be going to places frequented by right-wingers and sticking “all gender washroom” signs on regular single washrooms

Embarrassingly I have to recant what I said.

I double checked the details and found I misremembered the fine print. Wider pushback was implied in the reporting and headline, but it was actually only from the lone progressive councillor who is also working on traffic issues at the county level.
whatfuntimes.bsky.social
I’m shocked by the pushback. I’m in a small town (<10,000) and our council and mayor is speaking up against the speed camera ban.

We have never had a speed camera, are unlikely to have one any time soon, and they’re not even generally concerned with traffic safety or speed reduction.

This is nothing but a gesture, considering every POW returns mutilated and every liberated settlement is filled with improvised torture chambers.

Still, it’s something every russia appeasement adept should see when they close their eyes

The “E-Bike Effect:” Those who bought e-bikes increased their average daily bicycle use from 2.1km (1.3 miles) to 9.2km (5.7 miles), a 340% increase. The e-bike share of all their transportation increased dramatically too; from 17% to 49%.

E-bikes support fewer car trips.

What a line from the Pope! I am so pleased he is carrying on Pope Francis’ advocacy for immigrants.
More pointedly, the pope said, "Someone who says, I'm against abortion, but is in favor of the death penalty is not really pro-life. Someone who says, I'm against abortion but I'm in agreement with the inhuman treatment of immigrants in the United States, I don't know if that's pro-life."

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada. In 2017 I helped host a talk by Ry Moran, Director of the NCTR and he brought these small books with the 94 Calls To Action. I've read it at least once a year since. Today on the Chief William Commanda Bridge 1/2
In Cassie's white fingers is a small book (2x3") with an orange cover that says Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action. I'm the background are bushes and a skyline including the Peace Tower at Parliament Hill An old rail bridge with a pathway on it. People in the distance are walking and biking. The water is blue behind with a lot of green trees.

That little house with the mossy roof looks like it’s peaking out from behind the bush it’s trying to blend in with and it’s a great vibe.
