Articles like this are typical of why readers should support Pellicle. Brilliantly written and researched. I've been going to the D&G for 20 years and didn't know half of this. It's a miracle of a pub and one of the best in London.

Great story about a pub that has evolved enormously even in the 8-ish years I've been drinking there - from a quiet backstreet boozer where I'd read English Lit texts with a solo pint, to a spot that is literally always heaving. Real success story

It’s a remarkable pub. Always a delight to turn the corner into Prince Street

Is it in print? I knew it was on the website (but didn’t flag it here because I suspect people are getting sick of my pub lists)

It’s in the ALT on the first photo, but since you asked so nicely … The Castle in East Dulwich!

The last time i had this beer was sitting at the bar at the Olde Ship in Seahouses, Northumberland, in April. An old fellow asked me what i was drinking, then crinkled his nose. “I’ll stick with Landlord.”

It’s obviously ‘house style’, so to speak, since my second delicious £4 Theakston’s pint is also in a John Smiths glass
Another pint of Theakston’s Best in a John Smiths glass
