The discourse settles on voter responsibility because that’s where the responsibility lies. Voting is in a category of things many people don’t like to do (e.g. flossing, exercise, doing taxes) which have consequences for not doing them. As Obama jokingly put it, we have to eat our peas.
A lot of this discourse seems to settle on “voters don’t need motivation to vote, they just need to show up every time.” Which seems insane and ahistorical.

This massive imbalance has severely distorted our politics, our society, our healthcare—even religion (see “prosperity gospel”). The warning lights have been flashing red for years and if we don’t correct our course there will be worse to come.
America's richest 10% now hold 60% of the nation's wealth.

The bottom half of America? It holds just 6%.

Wealth inequality is eating this country alive.

Trump and Rubio have successfully neutered the State Dept’s legal office, just as the Judge Advocate Generals were at DoD. This will lead nowhere good at all. There is natural tension between the policy and legal shops but legal input was a valued and necessary part of the policymaking process.

Quite the accusation from the person responsible for shutting down USAID and most of its humanitarian and health programs, which has already resulted in approx. 600,000 deaths. There will be an estimated 14 million more, including 4.5 million kids, by 2030 if the cuts continue.

Context you rarely hear: global stocks are up about 30% over the past year. U.S. stocks? Around 18%. That means American investors underperformed the world by about 12 percentage points, even while headlines called it a “fantastic year.”

Denmark lost more troops per capita in the post 9/11 war on Afghanistan. Saying they “are not a good ally” because they won’t surrender their territories to the US is lunacy. We are betraying our allies to satisfy the whims of a would-be Emperor for whom the US is not enough.
They’re again advocating against Denmark when it comes to Greenland

I mean yeah it’s an authoritarian takeover but can we take some comfort in the fact that the people doing it are INSANELY stupid?

Restarting wage garnishment for student loan borrowers is cruel and unnecessary. Taking paychecks from people already struggling won’t fix repayment, it will push families further behind. We need real paths to relief and repayment, not punishment.

Apart from anything else, Duffy displays an appalling disregard for public safety from a Secretary of Transportation.

Absolutely. We now have a level of income inequality surpassing that of Ancien Régime France—which famously led to pitchforks.
Mitt Romney said the quiet part out loud: the rich should pay more in taxes.
The Wall Street Journal attacked him for it.
But he’s right—and ignoring the math is how democracies crack.

President Clinton just simultaneously checkmated Trump and and significantly complicated his life in one statement.
A spokesperson for former President Bill Clinton accused federal officials of “using selective releases to imply wrongdoing” and called on the Department of Justice to immediately release any remaining Epstein-related materials that refer to, mention, or depict Clinton.

The time to demand Bondi’s resignation or impeachment is NOW. Press them hard, put them on the defensive, and make this a key issue in the midterms.

It highlights everything wrong with the GOP — cult like loyalty to Trump, complete lawlessness, elite entitlement, etc.
#EpsteinCoverup is so blatantly hamfisted, it's political malpractice if Dems don't attack full bore: Impeach Bondi as the means to make it a defining issue next year in run-up to midterms.
Removing this obviously distributed-a-billion-times photo of Trump w/Melania, Epstein, & Maxwell from the DOJ release of files only points out the FBI team's foolish, slapdash attempt to cover up *any existence* of the adjudicated sexual assaulter FOTUS in them.

(1 of 2) This spring, the Trump administration told America that the Epstein Files were about 300,000 pages.

When I cited this figure on social media, MAGAs lost it, saying the Files were only a fraction of that figure.

Todd Blanche now says the Files are A MILLION PAGES.

As we know, Trump only ran to stay out of prison and enrich himself. Everything else is gravy. Life, however, comes at you fast and unpredictably, e.g. the Epstein files. It’s more likely that he’ll fall further to the ground than it is that he’ll waft upwards again.
